Graphics processing units (GPUs) are the backbone of visual computation and a key enabling technology for machine learning and the training of artificial intelligence models. Logic in the Sky with Datamines presents a series of historically significant GPUs, each overgrown with psychedelic fungi. The works juxtapose two extraordinary cultural technologies of vision and cognition—computational hardware and hallucinogens. By fusing technology and biology, the series evokes a haunted, abandoned aesthetic that reflects on obsolescence, extraction, and alternative modes of intelligence, human and otherwise.
