Maximilian Prüfer, b 1986 in Weilheim Obb, Germany. Prüfer has been working on the development of his own new printing system: "Naturantypie". Using it, he makes a record of natural movements, processes and phenomena. Because of the sensitive surface of the printing area he is enabled to catch and illustrate the slightest movements: the wing beats of moths passing by lamps or the tracks ants leave behind. He uses the printing area for a seismograph of the smallest as-is states. Prüfer works on philosophical questions and analogies concerning man and questions the world with regards to its contents, independent of the point of view prominent in man. Prüfer has also developed a method to transfers genuine scales of butterfly wings onto paper. Just like fish, butterflies have minute scales. Maximilian Prüfer's oeuvre does not only consist of highly aesthetic objects, but is made of real images created through a conceptual examination of the world. What is fascinating about his work is the unique methodological processing as well as the novelty prominent in his aesthetics. Using his method, he widens the potentials of displaying motion through drawing independent of tools.
